Project Background

The Bridge of Hope project was initiated to celebrate the 80th birthday of Marcell Gabala Shehata, a compassionate and Godly woman who dedicated her life to serving others. Instead of receiving personal gifts, Marcell requested that donations be made toward a cause close to her heart: helping impoverished people in Africa. This project focuses particularly on Sudanese refugees in Egypt, who fled their war-torn homeland seeking safety but are struggling to rebuild their lives.

Inspired by the proverb, “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime,” the initiative is designed to empower Sudanese refugees by teaching them practical, marketable skills. This project will not only help them achieve self-reliance but also foster long-term community development, ensuring that they can support themselves, contribute to society, and live with dignity.

This marks the beginning of a long-term mission, and for the project to thrive, we ask for your prayers, love, and support. Together, we can create sustainable change and offer refugees the tools to succeed.
